Tornado!
David and Alison asked that we babysit for our grandchildren while they went to Branson, Mo. for a few days. When they returned, the weather bureau was reporting a very unstable air mass that was predicted to collide with the unseasonably warm air we were experiencing. As the day progressed, it was clear tornados were likely.
As this video starts, the atmosphere was charged and caused the TV picture to break-up. As I moved to the front porch of David and Alison's house, a bird, possibly hit by air-to-air lightning, fell to the ground. Not too long after, my camera show rapidly moving clouds beyond the tree line. It proved to be a dangerous tornado heading right for the house! We all huddled in a closet and prayed the Rosary asking God to spare us from the devastation approaching. We felt a rumble through the walls and low pressure affected our ears...then, silence.
We learned that the tornado just missed us but destroyed one house under construction and damaged a neighbors’ house next door. Trees were uprooted and debris was everywhere. Afterwards, I took the camera and recorded the damage around the neighborhood. See for yourselves how prayer saved us from this dangerous tornado. 50 people died from this massive system as you have all seen on the news. What you didn't know is how close we were to disaster.
